On Saturday, December 13, members of the Pakistani American diaspora gathered at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, D.C. for the annual Christmas dinner reception, which was hosted in collaboration with the organization All Neighbors International. This festive occasion was a chance to unite Pakistanis, Americans, and other nationalities to celebrate togetherness, interfaith harmony, and shared humanity.
At the event, there were musical performances, including Christmas carols. Additionally, there were a number of speeches highlighting how the holiday season brings people together from across diverse cultures and faith traditions.
The event was both a celebration of Christmas and other winter holidays in the spirit of interfaith harmony. Notably, the event was attended by religious leaders of all faiths. At its core, this event demonstrated the diversity of Pakistan’s society and how respect for others’ beliefs is paramount.

Furthermore, the event took on added significance in light of a recent major legislative accomplishment in Pakistan: the further protection of members of religious minority communities. On December 2, 2025, Pakistan passed the National Commission for Minorities Rights Bill 2025 with a strong parliamentary majority, fulfilling a long-pending Supreme Court directive to establish an independent body for safeguarding non-Muslim minorities.
Ultimately, this celebration underscored that not only are non-Muslim minorities protected in Pakistan, but they are beloved.
